Education matters : SALU teachers ask CM for grant

SALU also demands timely release of the funds by the Higher Education Commission and the federal government.

The executive council of Shah Abdul Latif University Teachers’ Society (Saluts) appealed to the Sindh chief minister to grant an aid of at least Rs300-400 million to cover the university’s financial deficit.


The meeting, held on Tuesday at the Department of Computer Science, was attended by Saluts president Prof. Dr Noor Shah Bukhari, Prof. Dr Muhammad Aslam Memon, Prof. Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Liaqat Ali Chandio, Dr Ali Dino Jumani, Prof. Dr Amir Ahmed Khuhro, Ishrat Ali Mirani, Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Ahmed Ali Memon.

The council also demanded a timely release of the funds by the Higher Education Commission and the federal government.

The executive council also appreciated the efforts of Salu vice chancellor Prof. Dr Parveen Shah in promoting research activities by focusing on higher education through centralised admissions in MPhil, MS and PhD programmes and offering incentives for publication of research work in reputed journals.
