Football: Villa going nowhere, says Barca chief

Arsenal who have loaned Marouane Chamakh to West Ham on a six-month deal, were in the hunt for a striker.

FC Barcelona President Sandro Rosell has put to bed the rumours of David Villa leaving to join Arsenal in the English Premier League, according to the Daily Mirror. Arsenal who have loaned Marouane Chamakh to West Ham on a six-month deal, were in the hunt for a striker, and were strongly linked with Villa, who has been left out of the starting-XI in recent matches. Rosell, however, maintains Villa who signed for £31million deal from Valencia in 2010, is going nowhere. “I rule out the transfer of Villa during the winter market,” said Rosell. “He is ours and we need him.”
