Weighty argument: Scale shop sued for over Rs1m
Petitioner sought reimbursement and damages.

A consumer court issued notice to the Crown Mills Store managing director for February 1 in a Rs1.405m suit.
Petitioner M Sajid, the owner of Punjab Protein Farms, said he purchased a weighing scale on October 15, 2011 for Rs350,000 which turned out to be defective. He said his reputation had been damaged before his clients as a result and the respondent had refused to change the scale. He sought reimbursement of the Rs0.35m, Rs0.5m for loss of reputation, Rs0.5m for ‘mental torture’, and Rs55,000 in other fees.
