Memon criticises Qadri’s long march
Information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon says Qadri is wasting his energy and misleading people with his long march.
KARACHI:
Information minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Monday that Minhaj-ul-Quran International’s chief Dr Tahirul Qadri was wasting his energy and misleading people with his long march proposed for January 14.
He said that Dr Qadri should glance at his own career before pointing out faults in Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). “People know exactly who supported General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s regime and opposed the democratic system,” he said.
Memon added that such people have an undemocratic mindset and have colluded to derail the democratic system in Pakistan. “Mr Canadian [Dr Qadri] should bring his revolution in some other country. What Pakistan needs is not revolution but unity and democracy,” he said, adding that people could not be fooled by fake slogans and neither could the government be pressured.
