KARACHI:

Shahzeb Khan’s father denied reports that the family has accepted Rs250 million and agreed to withdraw the murder case.

Calling the story fake, DSP Aurangzeb told The Express Tribune that there is no truth in the story. “I will never accept money in return for my son’s murder. I will never take back the charges.”

He believed that it was part of the propaganda from the accused men - Nawab Siraj Talpur and Shahrukh Jatoi. “The families of the murderers want to destroy the justice movement,” he said. “Let me tell them that their dirty tactics will not work. We will never accept money. We want justice. We want the criminals to be hanged.”

Another newspaper published a story that a deal of Rs250 million has been finalised between Shahzeb’s and Shahrukh’s families. The story was, however, taken down from the website a few hours later. The followers of ‘In the Memory of Shahzeb Khan’ Facebook page, said it was shameful that the newspaper printed such baseless news. Nevertheless, the reporter stood his ground. The news of the deal was given to him by his “intelligence sources”, he said.
