Mother gets life sentence after beating son to death for not learning Quran
Sara Ege had assaulted her seven-year-old son Yaseen and burnt his dead body to hide her crime.
A mother was sentenced to prison for life after beating her seven-year-old son to death for failing to learn the Quran by heart and burning his body, The Guardian reported.
The perpetrator, Sara Ege, was sentenced to at least 17 years in prison before she could be considered for parole by the Cardiff crown court.
The court stated that Ege treated her son Yaseen “like a dog” as he had trouble with memorising passages from the Quran. She assaulted him on his hands and body until he collapsed on the floor of his bedroom and died.
Ege burned her son’s corpse by using barbecue lighting gel, to conceal her crime.
Following her arrest, the mother confessed to the murder of her seven-year-old son.
