Tennis: WAPDA, Punjab reach league final
Punjab’s Heera Ashiq defeated HEC’s Usman Ejaz 6-2, 6-3 in the second semi-final of the day.

WAPDA and Punjab confirmed their places in the final of the Pakistan Premier Tennis League as Wapda defeated Islamabad 2-0 and Punjab outplayed the Higher Education Commission (HEC) 2-0 in Islamabad yesterday.
Wapda’s Aqeel Khan defeated Ahmed Chaudry 6-2, 7-5 in the first semi-final of the day, while Yasir Khan confirmed Wapda’s place in the final with his win against Haseeb Yaqoob 6-2,6-4 in the men’s singles matches.
Similarly, Punjab’s Heera Ashiq defeated HEC’s Usman Ejaz 6-2, 6-3 in the second semi-final of the day, whereas Ahmed Babar overcame Saad Mubarik 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the second match of the tie between Punjab and HEC.
