KARACHI:

Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) has demanded an immediate dissolution of national and provincial assemblies and the set up of a caretaker government.

In a statement issued on Friday, PML-F media coordinator Shama Munshi said that the people of Pakistan are fed up with the incumbent government that has failed to fix the energy crisis, or the law and order situation in the country. “Pakistan is, in fact, passing through the most critical phase of its history and if elections are not held in time then the integrity of the country would be affected,” she said, adding that the rulers are least concerned with the security of Pakistan.

Quoting party leader Pir Pagara, she said, “Elections in the present delicate scenario of the country are inevitable.” The statement said that the Zardari-led government has weakened all institutions in the country. “PML-F will soon release a white paper on the five-year performance of the Pakistan Peoples Party.”
