RAWALPINDI:

A court on Thursday directed the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) administration to reinstate the security guard, who was earlier terminated. Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench declared the termination of Muhammad Faiz Satti illegal and directed the authority concerned to reinstate him.

In another case, Justice Saghir Ahmed Qadri restrained the assistant commissioner and town municipal officer (TMO) Gujar Khan from demolishing lawyers’ chambers in Gujar Khan. The petition was filed by secretary general of Gujar Khan Bar Association in response to a notice issued by TMO office which called for removing the chambers.

According to the TMO, the chambers were established on TMO land which is illegal. However during the hearing, the counsel of the petitioner, Sheikh Ashan, informed the court that lawyers’ chambers had not been established on TMO land.
