Tandojam plaza trouble: Hunger strike against toll tax

The protests against the toll tax have been going on for two months.

TANDO JAM:
Social and political activists went on a hunger strike on Tuesday to protest against the toll tax charges on Tandojam’s residents, Sindh Agriculture University’s employees and other people working in offices along the Hyderabad-Mirpur Khas road.

Social worker Ilyas Khokhar, Jeay Sindh Muttehida Mahaz’s Bejal Sindhi, Shoaib Bhatti, Imdad Baloch and Sindh United Party’s Naved Laghari were among those on hunger strike.

The protests against the toll tax have been going on for two months as people feel that they are being charged unfairly. Protesters threatened to block the Hyderabad-Mirpur Khas road if the government does not resolve the issue. They claim that the toll tax rates are also exorbitant.
