Rural areas: Solar energy to be supplied to 250 houses

More than 500 people will get indirect employment.

The Pakistan Council for Renewable Energy Technologies has announced that it will illuminate 250 houses in rural areas with the help of solar panels.


In this project of rural electrification through clean energy, around 51 scientists, engineers, technicians, skilled and semi-skilled people will get direct employment as the council has initiated production of high-quality solar panels. In addition to these, more than 500 people will get indirect employment.

According to the council, the basic objective of the project is to upgrade silicon crystal growing and wafering, cell fabrication and lamination facilities. It will help enhance production of solar cells and modules, along with promotion of clean and renewable solar energy through photovoltaic process.
