Succumbing to injuries: Shot Christian dies in hospital

One of the two Christian brothers, who were targeted by unidentified gunmen on Friday morning, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Sunday.
Liaquat and Karamat Masih were shot by unidentified assailants near Ittehad Chowk while the two were sweeping roads as per schedule. While Karamat died on the spot, Liaquat was rushed to a hospital where he too later died. Both had been working as sweepers in the local government’s municipal committee.
“Liaqat Masih succumbed to his injuries in a hospital on Sunday,” confirmed DIG police Ali Sher.

“I reiterate that the incident has nothing to do with terrorism. It was a result of a personal enmity,” said Sher, adding that nothing could be confirmed until investigation is completed.
