Data Ganj Bakhsh: 3-day urs to start on Jan 1
The celebrations will start with the laying of a traditional chaddar on the grave.

The 969th annual three-day Urs of Hazrat Ali bin Usman Al-hajveri, popularly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, will start from January 1.
The celebrations will start with the laying of a traditional chaddar on the grave, said Minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi while addressing a press conference at Data Darbar Complex here on Saturday. Auqaf Secretary Tariq Pasha was also present.
He said the Auqaf Department had allocated Rs8 million to provide facilities to devotees. The minister said 400 security guards and 170 volunteers of the Auqaf department would perform security duties. He said the department had installed cameras on the Darbar premises to monitor the celebrations. Camp offices of WAPDA, WASA, Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 have also been set up to facilitate devotees, he added.
