Gas leakage: Man completely burnt in fire
The team faced difficulties in taking their fire fighting equipment through the narrow streets.
RAWALPINDI:
A man was completely burnt in a fire in his room in Chaklala, near Bilal Masjid, early on Saturday morning, said Rescue 1122.
Altaf Siddiq, 50, was sleeping when the fire started due to gas leakage, said a Rescue 1122 official. The rescue department received a distress call at about 3:40am and a team was dispatched.
The team faced difficulties in taking their fire fighting equipment through the narrow streets of the neighbourhood to the room. Since they could not take their water tankers, the rescue officials had to rely on water from nearby houses.
Siddiq, alive but completely burnt, was taken to the burnt unit of the Holy Family Hospital. He was being treated at the surgical unit of the hospital when this report was filed.
