Capacity building: Radio broadcasting training concludes at Hazara varsity

Ten-day training was broadcasted on campus radio.

The trainings, while broadcasted on the campus radio FM 98.6, focused on news writing, news gathering, presentation and research and development in the field of radio broadcasting.

The 10-day training session via the campus radio of Hazara University for students of different departments concluded on Friday.


Hazara University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Sakhawat Hussain Shah awarded certificates to the qualifying students in a ceremony. He also lauded the university’s Communication and Media Studies (CMS) Department for organising the capacity building session. He said the department has contributed significantly in improving the quality of journalism in Hazara and in developing capacities of students and researchers of HU on media matters.


The trainings, which were broadcasted on the campus radio FM 98.6, focused on news writing, news gathering, presentation and research and development in the field of radio broadcasting.

The vice-chancellor said the university will soon set up its own television academy that would contribute towards brining further improvements in the area of electronic media.

CMS Department Dean Shokat Ali and In-charge Campus FM Radio 98.6 Majidul Ghafar also spoke at the ceremony.
