Development: Work on highway connecting Taxila to Haripur begins
The project will cost Rs2,854 million, said an official of the NHA.

Repair work on the 43-kilometre-long Taxila-Khanpur-Haripur Highway will boost trade, tourism and industry in the area, said officials on Thursday. Work on the project has already started. The highway that begins from Peshawar-Rawalpindi National Highway connects Taxila to Haripur via Khanpur and is the alternative route to the more commonly used Karakoram Highway.
Seven kilometres of the highway fall in Punjab, while the remaining part of the road is in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The project will cost Rs2,854 million, said an official of the NHA. The road was federalised in 2010.
