Holding a press conference along with Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) deputy convener Farooq Sattar, Qadri said that all those parties striving for reforming the electoral system and are fighting for people and democracy should join the protest.
“January 10 is the deadline, and January 14 is the day when our people’s parliament will announce a decision. We will resolve to provide rights to the people and to restore the real democracy,” Qadri said.
He assured that the protest will be peaceful and not in violation with the Constitution. “There will be no rioting. The protest will be peaceful. This is our political and constitutional right. Democracy allows peaceful protests.”
Qadri added, “We just need implementation and the execution of the Constitution, and we need the restoration of true and real democracy. We need the rights of our people back. We need to eradicate corruption and every kind of political exploitation from the electoral system.”

He's never been absent from Pakistan, he never came to Pakistan for 3 years, previous to that he would always come and do lectures etc. For the 3 years he didn't come, he communicated to millions of pakistanis from video conferencing, doing speeeches etc.
As Dr Qadri said many times, he is not interested in politics, he is interested in the, promotion of rights and intrinsic value of human life which has been degraded and killed by the current corrupt system.
He never ever supported Musharraf, ever, please do not make lies up. The rigged polls were against him, yet, he still won seats, that's when Dr Qadri first experienced first hand the corruption of the system which is why he left in the end in 2004.
Please again do not make up lies about constitution of pakistan, if you read them, even if they were witten by whoever, you would see the ones that Dr Qadri wants implementing are those that say "right to have food, clean water, shelter, electricity, gas, job opportunities, security, safety, no corrupt leaders, no corruption in the system". I don't think anyone opposes that, unless they are for the corrupt system and like seeing 180 million people suffer and die.
Having the army and judiciary involved is the case everywhere across the work from US to Australia. Without the consultation of the army and judiciary decisions aren't made, he only wants the consultation to happen. It's not like there isn't any consultation going on, it's just official now. Which shows to the world, look, as a country everyone, and every institution is united for the betterment of pakistan.
When a long absent religious cleric with political ambitions suddenly re-emerges from the woodwork, one is within one’s rights to ask what has prompted this rebirth. Dr Qadri’s track record is hardly inspiring. His political party, the Pakistan Awami Tehreek failed to make any dent in the 1997 elections despite an alliance with the then Benazir-led PPP. In 1999, he openly supported Musharraf’s coup, garnering a parliamentary seat in the rigged elections of 2002 into the bargain, which raises questions about his current posturing vis-à-vis opposing military takeovers and dictatorship. Many of the Articles of the constitution he wants implemented before any elections are a legacy of the Ziaul Haq dictatorship, which the post-2008 elections parliament has been unable to do away with despite the 18th Amendment. The interim setup Dr Qadri wants to oversee the elections should either be composed of, or at least have representation from the judiciary and army. Now if that is not opening the door to an extra-constitutional intervention/setup, it would be difficult to imagine anything more obvious.
I agree the Electoral process needs to be fixed, By running the same broken machine we will not be able to fix it. The Electoral process should mandate that what each party is bringing to contribute for Pakistan. There should be a quota of party to bring in and support educated as representative candidates and financially supported by the party. The Parties should put forth the mandate of their Economic, development Agenda, and vision
As the Poet of the east said once, "Apni duniya aap pada kar agar zindon me hai". First argument is whether one is satisfied with the realities on the ground. If you are then no need for any change. However, if you are not, then in that case, one must come out and follow someone who is credible, intelligent and speaks with authority without any bias.
One who has seen the luster of power and wasn't impressed. Now, everyone has to decide for themselves with their own intellect whether the one called Dr. Qadari is really a genuine article or not and secondly who else is out there who has been or not been tested over and over again and failed/not failed miserable each time. Leave your emotions and check the cold math. Really, this is not a tough choice for most people after listening to him.
Government has almost completed its term, E.C.P and Judiciary is independent, free and neutral. Soon there will be a care taker government to help E.C.P to conduct elections. At this crucial and very important moment, this Mullah has come from nowhere to disrupt political process. He does not care nor perceive the hidden dangers in these long marches. Fortunately, his record is so bad, that we are hundred percent sure, he will fail one last time.
Dear PMLN and PPP, If you want these establishment backed gimmicks not to happen again; please start delivering. Its a writing on the wall that you guys will again make it to assemblies next time as well in pretty much the same numbers, but try not screw the nation in your power grabbing struggle. Everyone loves Power, and absolutely no denying this fact, but understand that with power comes responcibility. And in this case, it is your responcibility to deliver. Pointing fingers at each other and the past regimes just pose as power hungry and a not even a single bit concerned about the huge responsibility you have towards the people who brought you into chambers of governance and gave you the power to rule. The bottom line of this rant is that na riyasat bachao name siyasat bachao, sirf banday Kay puttar ban jao and everything will work out fine.
In my opinion his call for change seems a NOW or NEVER movement.
Just saw his Interview with Mubashar Lucman, very impressive & educated man. He seems the be the only, who has such policies not just promises or blunders.
A civilian, who can manage a such organization in such comprehensive mode, with limited resources, across the globe in over 90 countries, why not the country?
I have personaly met his organization's leadership, very impressive & educated people there are & they belongs from every part society. Many of them are Doctors, Engineers & Moderate Aalims with both Islamic & Scientific knowladge. His self is a moderate Alim & PhD in Law, with both sons PhDs.
Pakistan now needs such qualified leadership, with expertise education & expirience on real issues, from every part of society.
Dr Qadri's NGO, rappresents a real figure of a Peaceful, Moderate & Welfare concept of Islam.
I also could have some difference of opinion with him, but can never deny his role of a honourable organiser.
Let's unite & hope for a Better Pakistan :-)
Let's do it!
Why everyone wrties against PPP or PMLN. JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE VOTE FOR THEM.sO YOU WANNA UNISH PEOPLE FOR THEIR CHOICES?
Someone, anyone, must do something to save this country. It was just a small spark that dismembered the country and Bangladesh came into being. I feel, God forbidden, things are moving the same way.
The CHANGE is on it's way! We are with you Dr. Tahir Ul Qadri and we love you.
@Nadir:
I am guessing you instead prefer those leaders whose whole wealth is safely tucked along with their families in UK, Franc, Dubai etc. Thank you for making the definition of who is a patriot clear to us.
Well done, Dr Tahir ul Qadri. Keep up your struggle for electoral reforms. The nation will stand by you.
This shows how successful his campaign was. He is an honest person and has served Islam all his life. He gave Fatwas and his books are taught as a course book in Al-Azhar University. He is the best! I am with him. His personality is very impressive.
Dr Tahir ul Qadri’s agenda - save the state, not politics - is not against any party or individual; it is against the prevailing system which is destroying our country.
@Nadir:
Those who are ruling who r they? Their whole sole r out side PAKISTAN.
My support is for Qadri, my vote is for MQM.
We'll be with you in the peaceful protest. We will stand against this corrupt system. We will march until the CHANGE happens.
The more things change the more they stay the same. History is repeating itself like it does on each election. The rightwing has never faced the relatively secular PPP alone but always as a broad based coalition and still got defeated. This is marriage of convenience and would only last till the defeat in next elections. One thing is new this time that PPP would contest elections as a ruling coalition and not all alone. It is not surprising that more and more angels are descending upon Pakistan to lead a rightwing coalition. What about the current and existing rightwing leaders of Pakistan? Have they given up on them in favor of new Tsunami?
WE are all with you and everyone should join this noble cause to save Pakistan, if people of Pakistan love Pakistan and want to save it.
This is a wake up call and if people are still sleep and don't join Dr. Qadri then it they are just sheep's nothing more or they are simply traitors...
A Canadian citizen telling us to overthrow the state? Outrage?
Join him for betterment of PAKISTAN.
