ISLAMABAD:

The city police on Thursday registered a case against a man who was accused of raping his daughter-in-law.

Tariq*, a resident of Choa Saidan Shah District Chakwal, was accused of raping his 24-year-old daughter-in-law and mother of two kids, said an official of Kohsar Police Station.

According to police sources, Nadia*, lodged a complaint that her father-in-law had raped her for three days in a house in Sector F-7/4. In her application, the victim alleged that on December 24, Tufail brought her to Islamabad to arrange a meeting with her mother. However, instead of arranging the meeting, he allegedly raped her at his servant quarter, police official said.

The complainant further alleged that he threatened her of dire consequence if she told anyone about the incident. Police said that the family is settled in Choa Saidan Shah and the victim’s husband is a car mechanic. The accused is a security guard at a private company. When contacted, Investigation Officer (IO) Mansha Shah confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the suspect.

He said that the police are still waiting for Nadia’s medical report. “The medial report is very important; usually people approach the police with rape allegations against their own relatives, but after investigation the suspects are found not guilty,” he added. *Names have been changed
