LAHORE:

The Punjab government will upgrade a centre at Mayo Hospital to form the Institute for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons.

This was announced at a meeting at the hospital on Tuesday.

Health Secretary Arif Nadeem, who chaired the meeting, said that he had ordered the preparation of a project proposal (PC-1).

King Edward Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Asad Aslam told the health secretary that the project would not be expensive as a building for the institute, currently housing a centre for disabled persons at Mayo Hospital, was already available.
