The 45-year-old singer says he wants to become an actor but needs a big producer and a big director.
Singer Daler Mehndi, who is launching his son Gurdeep in Bollywood with the film, Meri Shadi Karao says even he harbours dreams of becoming an actor. However, he feels that it is a costly affair.
“I also want to become an actor but for that I need a big producer and a big director,” the 45-year-old said in an interview.
“It won’t be feasible for me to sing four songs in my own film free of cost, give money to the producer for the poster of the film and go here and there to promote it — I can’t do this,” he said.
“But yes, if I am capable and if the producer or the director comes up with a good story and a message, then I would definitely do it.”
Daler also recalls a time when he rejected a film.
“Quite some time ago I rejected Rahul Rawail sahab’s Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi opposite Kajol as I didn’t find the story appealing. But now, if something interesting comes, I will definitely do it,” Daler said.
