Stability: Imran warns against delay in elections

A delay or postponement of the elections will jeopardise stability of Pakistan: PTI chief

HYDERABAD:

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf chief Imran Khan has said holding of the general elections on time was indispensable for stability in the country.

“I am very clear on this. There is no way for Pakistan to achieve stability without timely elections,” Khan said while reacting to the demand of the head of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri.

At a press conference with Awami Tehreek president Ayaz Palijo on Sunday, Khan acknowledged the problems in the existing system as pointed out by Qadri. “Today I heard his speech while travelling in Sindh.

I agree with most of the things that he said. It’s what the PTI has been saying all along.” ECP has plenty of time to rectify the shortcomings in the electoral system that Qadri pointed out. But he insisted that the PTI considers that a delay or postponement of the elections will jeopardise stability of Pakistan.
