Yuvraj praises ‘great finisher’ Morgan
England T20 captain’s last-ball six seals series-levelling win.
Man of the series Yuvraj Singh praised Eoin Morgan after the England Twenty20 captain concluded the match with an unbeaten 49 off 26 balls to seal a six-wicket win and draw the series 1-1.
Morgan struck a superb six off the last ball of the game that helped England finish at 181. Earlier, the home side scored 177 for eight, with Virat Kohli and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni both top-scoring with 38.
“The way he finished the game was incredible,” said Singh, who took three wickets for 17, according to the BBC. “We bowled well in patches but England batted well, especially Morgan, who is a great finisher.”
Morgan, who was deservedly named man of the match, said that his team’s outstanding fielding enabled them to save some crucial runs.
“It was a great pitch and both sides were in the game throughout the whole 40 overs,” said Morgan. “This was one of the best atmospheres I’ve played in, and this will do all our young players lots of good for the future.”
