Anti-conflict initiative: Peace-building workshop concludes
Workshop was organised by Sustainable Development Policy Institute and Search for Common Ground.
PESHAWAR:
Local leaders from North Waziristan, DI Khan, Swabi, Swat, Haripur, Manshera, Charsadda, and Peshawar vowed to discourage violence and promote peace at a five-day training workshop on peace building.
The workshop was organised by Sustainable Development Policy Institute and Search for Common Ground, Pakistan, in collaboration with the Danish International Development Agency.
Held from December 18 till December 22, the workshop was part of SFCG, Pakistan’s “Promotion of Dialogue for Peace Building through Media and Youth Mobilisation in Pakistan” project, which seeks to involve media personnel, local activists and the youth in peace building activities and showcase models of tolerance and reconciliation across Pakistan. After the workshop, these trained leaders will form forums for dialogue to implement peace in their respective communities.
