Crime: Mother of four set on fire

A mother of four was set on fire by a man in Chaklala on Thursday night. The woman, in her early 30s, was taken to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), where doctors said over half of her body was burnt. However, her condition is stable, said the doctors. Police said Aziz Imran, the suspect, was trying to convince Tahira Kausar, the victim, to get divorced from her husband and Dubai and marry him instead. She refused. This infuriated Imran and he doused her with kerosene and set her on fire, police said. The two were in touch via phone, police said. The police registered a case but had yet to make an arrest when this report was filed. Our Correspondent
