Health workers in danger: NGOs forum condemns polio murders
PHF extends sincere condolences to the families of those killed and injured in these tragic and senseless attacks
The Pakistan Humanitarian Forum (PHF), a network of 53 not-for-profit organisations, condemned this week’s attacks on health workers in Pakistan. According to a press release, the PHF extended sincere condolences to the families of those killed and injured in these tragic and senseless attacks, and called on all parties to respect and ensure the safety of men and women working to assist those in need. The health workers were targeted for their efforts to protect children and contribute to efforts to eradicate polio. Pakistan is one of only three countries in the world where Polio is still reported. The release also stated that safety of humanitarian workers must be prioritised to ensure the basic needs of Pakistan’s men, women and children.
