Dissent: Assembly secretary says motion ‘against rules’
Baloch distanced himself from the tussle.
QUETTA:
At a hurriedly arranged press conference, Balochistan Assembly Secretary Zahood Ahmed Baloch said that the no-trust motion was against the rules.
Baloch said that a sudden change for Wednesday’s session agenda was brought forward at the last minute, and he was given a notice of Aslam Bhootani’s suspension. “I told the movers [of the motion] that the permission of the sitting speaker of the house is necessary but they neglected [my advice] and pleaded that the deputy speaker would give approval,” he added.
Baloch, however, distanced himself from the tussle, saying that he was a government employee and did not want to become part of ‘any confrontation’, adding that the law did not permit that.
