Cantonment board: ‘Demolish illegal constructions or face contempt’
Ashraf Ali Butt, the lawyer of the cantonment board, assured judges that illegal constructions would be demolished.

The Sindh High Court has warned the Faisal Cantonment Board officials to demolish illegal constructions within three weeks or they may be served contempt of court notices.
On Wednesday, Justice Maqbool Baqir, heading the division bench, heard the petition that seeks the removal of unauthorised structures.
The petitioner, Nadeemur Rehman, took the defence ministry, the Cantonment Board Faisal chief executive officer, Star Blessings Buildings and some other private parties to court
Rehman claimed he bought a shop from the developer, but the builder also constructed another shop on the open space beside the petitioner’s shop, which Rehman contends violates building laws. Ashraf Ali Butt, the lawyer of the cantonment board, assured the judges that illegal constructions would be demolished as ordered by the court within three days and its report would also be submitted. The hearing was adjourned to January 23.
