Unrest in Ubaro: Farmers protest against sugar mill

The protest resulted in a traffic jam on the highway.

UBARO:
A number of tractor drivers and farmers protested against the Daharki Sugar Mills on Sunday for buying sugarcane from farmers in Punjab rather than those in Sindh. The mill is located at Kumoon Shaheed near Ubaro. The farmers claimed that they had parked hundreds of tractors loaded with sugarcane on National Highway because mill owners had refused to issue them indents. The protest resulted in a traffic jam on the highway. Several police officials and security guards from the mill tried to disperse the farmers forcefully injuring many of them in the process.
