Man killed during motorcycle theft
Three men killed across different areas of the city.
KARACHI:
A total of three men were shot dead on Monday in different areas of the city.
Within the jurisdiction of Sher Shah police station, a 55-year-old man, identified as Aurangzaib, was gunned down. SHO Malik Nawaz said that Aurangzaib lived in the same area and used to sell clothes in a market there. He was gunned down by armed men when he refused to give up his motorcycle. After killing him, the men rode off on the vehicle.
In Orangi Town, a young man belonging to the Shia sect was shot dead and two others were injured in Orangi Town. The slain man was identified as 23-year-old Raza Muzammil while the injured were identified as Farhan and Faisal. The body and injured men were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. DSP Zahid Hussain said that two armed men on a motorcycle intercepted and shot Raza and his friend Farhan as they were on their way to a tea factory. Faisal, who was standing nearby, was also hit by a bullet. The officer added that the initial investigation has led law enforcers to believe that the man had been targeted because of his sect. The police have yet to register the case.
The police also found the body of an unidentified young man near Jahanabad police post, within the jurisdiction of Pak Colony police station. The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for identification. Law enforcers said the initial investigation has led them to believe that the man had been kidnapped before he was shot dead. The police have registered a case against unidentified people on behalf of the state.
