Corruption: ASI, jail warder booked
Khan says that the ASI had let the theft accused go without recovering his motorcycle.
FAISALABAD:
The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has registered cases against an assistant sub inspector and a jail warder in separate cases for accepting bribes.
The complainant, Ahmad Bux, a resident of Akhtara-Hazari, said that the police had registered a case against his son after he had a fight with some neighbours.
Bux said that when he approached the jail warder, Asab Ali, to request him to cancel the case as it was “just a quarrel among some boys”, he said, the jail warder asked him for Rs35,000. In another case, Ajmal Khan, a resident of Millat Town, alleged that ASI Sohail Akhtar had accepted Rs15,000 from a man, who the complainant had nominated in a motorcycle theft case.
Khan said that the ASI had let the theft accused go without recovering his motorcycle.
ACE Circle Officer Aziz Gill conducted an inquiry and registered cases against the jail warder and the ASI after the allegations were proven true.
