Two dead, 3 injured in incidents of fire

In Wazirabad, a woman, 30, was severely burnt in a fire caused by a gas leak in a cylinder.

Two persons were burnt alive on Friday and another three, including two women, hospitalised in different fire incidents in Faisalabad.


An octogenarian Bashir Ahmad, his wife Sajida Bibi and relative Khalid were sleeping in a room in which they had left the stove on because of the cold. Ahmad and Sajida Bibi’s quilt caught fire from the stove. Ahmad died on the spot.


His wife and relative were shifted to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.

In the other incident, Mian Khan, a resident of Chak No596-GB, was brought to a hospital after he received burns in a fire at his house. The doctors said they had tried their best to save his life but could not.

In Wazirabad, a woman, 30, was severely burnt in a fire caused by a gas leak in a cylinder. The mother of three, identified as Farzana, a resident of Wanjoo Wali turned on the stove and lit a match to cook a meal. However, there was a gas leak and when the match was lit, there was a huge flame. Farzana’s clothes caught fire and she received serious burns all over her body. She was referred to Gujranwala.
