‘MFN status can boost Indo-Pak trade to $6b’
Indian exporters to visit Pakistan soon to participate in India Expo.

With the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status likely to be granted to India and phasing out of the negative list from 1,209 items in near future, the bilateral trade between India and Pakistan is expected to touch $6 billion in next three years from the present level of around $2 billion.
This was stated by Rafeeque Ahmed, president of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) who is going to lead a 65-member delegation of Indian business community to Karachi from December 21-23.
Ahmed said FIEO in association with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) is organising India Expo at the Karachi Expo Centre to provide a platform to businessmen of two sides to explore business opportunities, a press release of FIEO on Saturday said.
He informed that during the India Expo, Indian companies will be exhibiting their goods from diverse sectors like diesel engines, generators, auto parts, hand tools, roofing sheets, solar energy and electrical products, plants and equipments for industrial gases, textile, fashion jewellery, footwear, spices, dairy and food, leather chemicals and pharmaceuticals, stationery, PVC, holograms etc.
He was hopeful that this will be a good opportunity for the business communities of both countries to have dialogue with each other and find synergies as the two big neighbours of South Asia are coming closer.
