YMCA ground: SHC calls for report on illegal construction
SBCA lawyer asks court to grant her two weeks to submit the complete report.
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court has given two weeks to the Sindh Building Control Authority to submit its report on the action taken against illegal construction at the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) premises.
Justice Maqbool Baqir, who headed the bench, passed the orders while hearing a petition seeking the removal of structures built at the disputed land. A boundary wall has been constructed around the YMCA playground, a precious piece of land located in the commercial heart of Karachi, the petitioner alleged, appealing to the court to order the demolition of unauthorised construction.
The Sindh Building Control Authority’s lawyer, Afsheen Amaan, told the judges that the court’s order had been complied with fully and effectively. The lawyer asked the court to grant her two weeks to submit the complete report. Accepting the request, the judges adjourned the hearing.
