Tehreek-i-Insaf: Imran’s public campaign starts from Gujranwala on Saturday

‘The tsunami is alive and heading in the right direction’.

LAHORE:

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will start a mass public contact campaign from Gujranwala on Saturday and the Insaf Professional Forum will also be launched on that day, said PTI central information secretary Shafqat Mehmood.

Mehmood was speaking with the media at a lunch hosted by the PTI for the press at a private club on Thursday.

Mehmood said Khan’s mass public campaign in south Punjab had received a “tremendous response”. He said locals participated in the thousands. Khan addressed 27 public meetings during his two day visit, Mehmood added.

Khan is to address the Lawyers Convention in Lahore on Friday. The PTI is also arranging a Justice for Women Seminar on Sunday in Lahore where Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal, psychiatrist Dr Saad Bashir and actor Seemi Raheel are scheduled to speak. The speakers will talk about problems faced by Pakistani women and suggest remedial actions, Mehmood added. Imran Khan will also speak at the seminar.

Mehmood, shrugging of the recent taunt of political opponents that the “tsunami had become badnami (infamous),” said, “the tsunami is alive and heading in the right direction.”

Mehmood said the Pakpattan district would be visited next week by Imran Khan and other party leaders. “This campaign will continue till the upcoming general elections and the party will make clean sweep in the country.”
