KARACHI:

A church situated on the premises of the Dow University of Health Sciences is being converted into a utility store, claimed parliamentarian Saleem Khursheed Khokhar.

Khokhar, the chairman of the standing committees on minorities’ affairs in the Sindh assembly, has submitted an application to the Sindh governor demanding the restoration of the church.

“The church has been closed since 10 years and was initially made into a generator room,” he said. According to the parliamentarian, the church had been built during the British era when the Ojha Sanitarium for tuberculosis patients was formed. When the sanitarium closed, the land was given to the university.
