PPFL: KRL back to winning ways
Defending champs thrash Wohaib FC 4-0 in football league.
KARACHI:
Defending champions KRL crushed Wohaib FC 4-0, while Paf moved to third in the standings with a 2-1 win over NBP 2-1 in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) yesterday.
KRL’s Ziaus Salam scored the opening goal, while Kaleemullah scored twice in the second half to ensure the victory. KRL have now moved back into second while Wohaib FC remained at the bottom.
The biggest news of the day, however, was PAF’s narrow win against NBP with two goals from striker Muhammad Sher.
“My prediction is that KRL will take the top position,” PAF coach Muhammad Arshad told The Express Tribune. “They have 11 more matches to play and their goal average is better. However, we’ve got six more matches and that is enough to keep us among the top three.”
Meanwhile, Wapda skipped their match with Baloch FC in Noushki. Baloch FC got a walkover and climbed three spots to 10th. Wapda stayed eighth with 26 points.
