Land grab LDA stops work at housing scheme
The LDA had already lodged an FIR against the housing scheme at Chuhng police station.
LAHORE:
Lahore Development Authority officials on Tuesday stopped a housing scheme on Multan Road from carrying out development work on land it does not own, said a press release.
Staff of the Metropolitan and Town Planning wings took action to prevent the River Edge Housing Scheme from grabbing land at its edges and other violations of the approved scheme, said the press release.
The LDA had already lodged an FIR against the housing scheme at Chuhng police station. “The LDA had to take action in order to safeguard the hard earned savings of intending buyers of plots in this scheme,” it said.
River Edge Housing Scheme had been approved by the LDA in 2006 for an area of 765.75 kanals. It comprised of four blocks named Topaz, Sapphire Jasmine and Jade. The LDA said that the housing scheme had extended Topaz block illegally and also built three other blocks named Rose, Tulip and Gold – without approval.
