Tyno case: Judge seeks records of bail applications

An additional district and sessions judge seeks bail applications for the three accused by December 14.

LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Tuesday sought records of bail applications for the three accused in the toxic syrup case from Shahdara police.

Judge Anjum Raza passed the order demanding bail applications of Fida, Abdul Rauf and Rizwan by December 14.

Earlier, the petitioner's counsel pleaded the court to grant bail to the accused, arguing that they were innocent and falsely implicated in the matter. However, police failed to produce records of the case today.

The court adjourned the matter till December 14 and sought the records.

Police had registered a case under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code after 19 people died from consuming poisonous cough syrup. The three accused, including a distributor and two shopkeepers, were taken into custody.

The court had already granted interim bail to factory owner Khalid Saleem Mian, the man accused of producing the toxic syrup.
