Formula One: Goodbye McLaren, says Hamilton

It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made: Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton said his final goodbyes to the team at McLaren’s headquarters ahead of his move to Mercedes next season, according to Sky Sports. “It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made,” said Hamilton, who joined the Woking team when he was 13 in 1998. “It is to do with the process of growing up. That’s why I am taking the next step, to grow as a driver and as a human being. My time at McLaren has been fantastic. The year we won the championship in 2008 was a result of the hard work from all of you. Thankyou so much. You were brilliant and you still are. I have so much affection and love for this team. And that’s why McLaren has always felt like home. Maybe I’ll come back one day...if you’ll have me.” Hamilton’s association with McLaren comes to an end on December 31.
