Chaudhry brothers conspiring against ECP: Sanaullah
Punjab law minister says an independent and autonomous election commission does not suit Chaudhry brothers.
LAHORE:
By refusing to accept the by-election results, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is conspiring to make the result of elections doubtful, said Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Elahi has expressed no confidence in the independent, autonomous, impartial and unanimous Election Commission of Pakistan which is a part of the conspiracy, said Sanaullah.
Commenting upon Elahi’s speech at a public meeting, Sanaullah said that an independent and autonomous election commission does not suit Chaudhry brothers, as they have always contested elections by constituting commissions of their own choice. He added that this was the first by-election to be held under a unanimous and impartial election commission, and has exposed how unpopular the Chaudhry brothers are in Gujrat.
If they analyse their politics, they will not see any “achievement” to their credit apart from the death of innocent children at Lal Masjid, electing a dictator to rule the country and widespread corruption, added Sanaullah.
