Bad aim: Cop accidentally kills man, injures son

“They were carrying wood to their house when the constable opened fire at the dog,” says DSP Khan.

MARDAN:
A police constable shot a man and accidently injured his teenage son while trying to shoot down a rabid dog in Dobai Adda in Bakhshali area of Mardan on Sunday. DSP Rural Samad Khan said that around 8:00am, Constable Rahimdad of Chura police station opened fire at the dog that was spotted trying to enter a residential area. He missed the dog and accidently shot Khalid Shah and injured his son Tanvir. “They were carrying wood to their house when the constable opened fire at the dog,” DSP Khan said. Khalid died on the spot while Tanvir was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital. Relatives and residents gathered around the body and demanded the government and district police officers to arrest the accused constable.
