RAWALPINDI:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday repeated its request to conduct daily hearings in former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination case.

The case was registered five years ago. FIA special prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali urged Anti-Terrorism Court-I (ATC-I) Special Judge Habibur Rehman to follow the directions of the Lahore High Court directing trial judges to carry out daily hearings in terrorism cases.

The prosecutor argued that the case had been the longest pending case before ATC-I of Rawalpindi.  The trial judge remarked that lawyers in the case should be present every day for the court to have daily hearings.

Separately, the court could not take up an application filed by Sebah Musharraf for unfreezing of the property of former president Pervaiz Musharraf, as her lawyer did not turn up in the court.
