ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will commence flights between Quetta, Pakistan and Kandahar, Afghanistan from December 25, 2012. According to a spokesman of the national flag carrier, Quetta and Kandahar are thriving commercial towns and it was a longstanding demand of the business communities in both cities to have commercial flights between the two. Initially, two flights will operate weekly on the Karachi-Quetta-Kandahar-Quetta-Karachi route every Tuesday and Thursday. Currently, PIA is only flying to Kabul and this added route will expand its flight network into Afghanistan.
