Overloaded vehicles on motorways: Action to be taken, assures IGP
Motorway Police IG assured the minister that action against overloaded vehicles is being taken all over the country.

Overloading is responsible for destroying national roads and is extremely dangerous for the national economy. This was said by Communications Minister Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan at a meeting at National Highways and Motorway Police headquarters in Islamabad on Friday. He said that no overloading would be allowed on motorways or highways and ordered the inspector general of the motorway police to devise an action plan to combat overloading. Motorway Police IG Zafar Abbas Lak said 76 help centres are being established at N-5 from Karachi to Peshawar at a cost of Rs600 million, which would facilitate road users in any type of distress. He assured the minister that action against overloaded vehicles is being taken all over the country.
