Drug stocks: Inquiry into missing record ordered
Three employees have been nominated as suspects in the case.

District Health Officer (DHO) Shahid Bukhari has directed Deputy DHO Dr Rao Mohammad Ali to conduct an inquiry into the loss of record of life saving drug stock. The appointed was made on Thursday after the administration informed the district health officer about the missing record which could surface as embezzlement. The district health officer was informed that the record was lost after the Health Department stock register concerned went missing the day before. Health Department officials said that three employees have been nominated as suspects in the case. They said that Paiman, a non government organisation, had provided million of rupees worth of drugs to the Health Department, which had not been documented in the stock register. Initial investigation revealed that the stock register did not have records of stocks for at least three years.
