Court Challenge: PU VC’s reappointment challenged
The petitioner prayed that the appointment of all the respondents be declared illegal.
LAHORE:
A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court challenging the reappointment of the Punjab University vice chancellor, registrar and 63 other officials. Mohammad Yousaf filed the petition and contended that all 65 university officials including the vice chancellor were reappointed after their retirement. He said their reappointment was not only a violation of Supreme Court of Pakistan directions but also amounted to usurping the right of eligible candidates. The petitioner prayed that the appointment of all the respondents be declared illegal and unconstitutional.
