Pak-Emirates efforts: UAE grants amnesty to illegal residents

Official fees waived off for amnesty seekers and travel documents will be issued to everyone without any charge.

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE Jamil Ahmed Khan said on Monday that amnesty granted to people who are illegally residing in UAE, demonstrates magnanimity and respect for human rights. Speaking at a dress rehearsal for the facility created for amnesty seekers from Pakistan at the embassy, the ambassador stated that Pakistan’s foreign policy attaches great importance to the welfare of overseas citizens. Praising the UAE government and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi for granting amnesty to all categories of people who are out of status, Khan said that keeping in view the spirit of UAE’s announcement, official fees have been waived off for the amnesty seekers and travel documents will be issued to everyone without any charge.
