Fire victim: State Life pays Rs1m to family
Also announces a scholarship for the victim’s sister.
KARACHI:
State Life Insurance Corporation paid compensation to the family of Ovais Baig, who fell from their building in Saddar during a fire on November 26. At a ceremony held at their main office, chairman Shahid Aziz Siddiqui presented a cheque of Rs1 million to Baig’s father, adding that this compensation cannot match the value of a human life. He also announced a scholarship for the victim’s sister and promised that he will consider procuring a job for the victim’s brother. Abdur Rasheed Baig, the victim’s father, appreciated the gesture and prayed for the success of the company.
