Accountability trial: Hamesh Khan withdraws court transfer plea

Accountability Court Judge Nisar Baig says he was conducting the trial without fear or favour.

LAHORE:

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court on Monday dismissed as withdrawn a petition from former Bank of Punjab president Hamesh Khan seeking the transfer of his corruption trial.

The chief justice had, at the previous hearing on November 26, directed the petitioner’s counsel to come up with more arguments and documentary evidence of the alleged bias of the presiding officer of the accountability court trying Khan.

Accountability Court Judge Nisar Baig had earlier denied the allegation, saying he was conducting the trial without fear or favour.
