Indian Film Festival in Florence honours Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan.

MUMBAI:
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is looking forward to attending the River To River 2012 Indian Film Festival in Florence, in which his popular films will be highlighted as a tribute to him.

The 70-year-old is excited about visiting the city and the festival, where his movies Sholay, Black, Deewar and even Everlasting Light, a documentary on him, will be screened.

His wife, Jaya Bachchan, too was invited, but she won’t be able to join him on the trip.

The film festival, which will start December 7 and concludes December 13, will also showcase other Bollywood movies like Raja Harishchandra, Rockstar and Gangs of Wasseypur.

Recently, French icon Catherine Deneuve gave a tribute to Amitabh at the 12th Marrakech International Film Festival, which celebrated 100 years of Indian cinema. In November, the thespian was also felicitated by the Australian government for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Previously, the actor was conferred an honourary doctorate from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.

He was also awarded France’s highest civilian honour, the Knight of the Legion of Honour, for his exceptional career in the world of cinema and beyond.
